REC PLUS Grades 4-9 General Information

 
Rec Plus is a Fairfield County program which includes separate boys and girls teams for players from 3rd grade to 12th grade. Weston Soccer currently participates in the Rec Plus league from 5th through 8th grades. The Rec Plus league is comprised of neighboring towns which is structured very similar to Travel Soccer but is less competitive and does not require as strong a commitment as Travel.  Rec Plus encourages participation so every player plays at least 50% of every game.  Prior experience is not required and all children are encouraged to join Rec Plus for the fun of playing soccer and to gain the positive experiences of a team sport.  There are no try-outs but space is limited on teams so it is advisable to sign up early.

Rec Plus teams have 2 practices weekly run by professional coaches.  The days and times of the practices are subject to the availability of the coaches and fields and are determined just before the start of the season.  Games are on Saturday on either a Weston field or one of the nearby towns.
 
If your child enjoys playing soccer but the travel program seems to demand too much commitment or is too competitive then Rec Plus is for your child.
