PreK General Information

WHO:
  • Grade -1: designed for children who are 4 or 5 years old or entering Kindergarten Fall 2011.
  • If you register for the fall season prior to July 1st, the grade for this program is -2 (minus 2) because the system adds one to the grade in the record at midnight on June 30. Registrations are temporarily closed on July 1st so the program criteria can be changed to the correct grade.
  • Girls and Boys are separated for PreK.
WHEN:
  • 2 seasons: Fall and Spring
  • 8, 1-hour sessions on Saturday mornings from 10:30 - 11:30AM. No practices.
  • Morehouse Farm Park on Field Area #1 and #2. More specific field locations will be posted near the registration table before each session and online once the season starts. Entrance to park is located on Rt 53 just across from Valley Forge Road.
FOCUS:
  • Focus on introducing the game of soccer on small-sided fields, developing motor skill through very basic soccer handling drills and building self-esteem and social skills
  • Includes drills and games without goalies
REGISTRATION:
  • Registration is online only and is a 2-step process: Registration and Payment
  • Both steps must be completed for your child to be placed on a team.
UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT:
  • Weston Soccer Club reversible jerseys are worn during all Saturday sessions
  • Jerseys are ordered during the registration process and picked up at the registration table during the first session.
  • Players must wear shin guards, bring #3 ball (labeled clearly with player's name on it)  and water.
  • Cleats are optional.
  • Players must remove all jewelry including watches, necklaces and bracelets
VOLUNTEERS:
  • Since the Rec program is run entirely by volunteers, it is mandatory that at least one parent volunteer for a duty; this is done on the registration form.
