Thank you for volunteering to serve as a practice parent for your child's team. As practice parent, you are responsible for the following:
- WHAT TO BRING: Please bring the team contact list and a cell phone with you to the practice. If you do not have a copy of the team contact list, ask your team manager for one.
- UPON ARRIVAL: Please arrive at the field on time. Take attendance. Parents are expected to notify the coach of any absences. Ask the coach at the beginning of practice which players aren't expected to be there, and then follow up with a call to the parent if any child is missing but not on the coach’s absentee list. If the parent cannot be reached, call your team manager for assistance.
- DURING PRACTICE: Please make sure kids stay on their designated field during the practice. If players leave the field to use the restroom, please take note of their prompt return.
- MINOR INJURIES: Ask your team manager whether your child's coach is holding the team First Aid kit, or whether it will be given to you by the manager or another parent. Please locate the kit in advance in case it is needed and take care of any child who needs attention. Also, if you need to use it, please follow up with an email to your manager to let him or her know if the kit needs to be replenished.
- MAJOR INJURIES: For major injuries such as: fainting, head injury/suspected concussion, possible broken bones, major bleeding, allergic reactions, or any other serious situation, you are urged to call 911 first, then call the child’s parents second. Do not hesitate to err on the side of caution by calling 911.
- OTHER ISSUES: The coach should be able to handle any behavioral or other issues that may arise, but if you have any concerns feel free to contact: Boys Director Marcia Hamelin at 227-2293 (home) or (914) 393-6516 (cell) or via email at
; Girls Director Sally Korsh at 221-9040 (home) or 331-5314 (cell) or via email at
; or 3rd Grade Director Cello Pohle at 227-2262 (home) or via email at
.
- UPON DEPARTURE: Remain at field until all children have been picked up.
Thank you again for volunteering your time!
