CLUB LEVEL

Board Positions

 

            President

Oversees direction of Club, recruits members for key positions, interfaces with other organizations, leads Board policies.

            Secretary

Organizes Board meetings. Maintains Board records, works with Board members on board policies and planning.

            Travel Director

Oversees Travel Program including recruitment of personnel, setting direction of program, organizing coaching, organizing teams and program.

            Rec Plus Director

Oversees Rec Plus Program including recruitment of personnel, setting direction of program, organizing coaching, organizing teams and program.

            Rec Director

Oversees Rec Program including recruitment of personnel, setting direction of program, organizing coaching, organizing teams and program.

            Registrar

Organizes registration of players, interfacing with CJSA, directs registration process, organizes tryout process.

            Treasurer

Responsible for all finance functions including budgeting, collection and disbursement of funds, setting finance policies.

            Fields/Equipment

Oversees field selection and organization, game and practice field assignments, equipment procurement and distribution.

            Communication

Lead internal and external communication strategy and execution, including publicity.

            Field & Equipment             Assistants

Preparation of fields and goals at beginning of season and decommissioning at end of season. Distribution of team equipment.

            Finance Assistants

Assistance with preparation of budgets, collection and handling of fees, payment of expenses.

            Referee Assignor 

Oversee recruitment and development of referees for Travel, Rec + and other games. Responsible for all scheduling of referees matching age/competency of referee to games needed.


 

REC LEAGUE

 

Commissioners

Individual grade leadership, appoint coaches and assistants, organize teams, create team schedules, program communication, professional staff guidance and assistance.

Coaches

Provide support to the Professional Coaches including:  Team leadership, substitute players and call water breaks, positive player motivation and team initiatives, team communication of all information, club policy, first aid and monitor for safety.  Ensure the team is supervised by a parent coach each session. 

Assistant Coaches

Back-up Coach on field and in absence of coach.  Requirement are the same as of a coach.



Concession 
Scheduler

Create a schedule of volunteers to work the concession stand for the season.  Volunteers specify their choice of time during the registration process.  You simply devise and distribute the finished schedule as well as send out weekly reminders.

Concession Shift
Volunteer

Staff the concession stand or apparel table during a short shift.  Sell food, beverages and apparel as necessary.  Keep area neat and clean.

Practice Commissioner

Create a schedule of volunteers to serve as Practice Parents.  People choose this volunteer option during the registration process and you will simply devise and distribute the final list as well as send out weekly reminders. Maintain emergency contact list and first aid kit at practices.

Practice Parent

Arrive at dismissal time to assist children with their cleats.  Possibly help take attendance.  Ensure all children are accounted for and no one wanders off.  Help with minor injuries.  At end of practice make sure all children are picked-up.

 

TRAVEL_LEAGUE TEAM LEVEL

 

Manager

Coordinating job assignments among families, working with Registrar to register team, communicating information to team on game and practice schedules, coordinating with Assistant Managers. Orientation and Manager’s Manual provided at beginning of season. No experience required.

Assistant Managers (3 required)

o   Practice Parent Coordinator -organizing and coordinating parent assignments (good job for person with unpredictable time schedule). One to two hours per week.

o   Game Parent Coordinator -  preparing and distributing the game parent schedule.

o    Tournament Coordinator-organizes planning and registration for tournament play

No experience required.

Parent Coaches (2 required)

Assistant coaching for practices and games. (No experience required. Coaching manual and introductory session provided. Attendance at practices not required as sessions are conducted by professional coaches.)

 

 

TRAVEL LEAGUE  PROGRAM LEVEL

 

Assistant Director-Girls

Assistant Director -Boys

Oversees selection and orientation of managers, assistant managers and parent coaches. Coordinates development of season with AD-Managers and League Commissioners.

Schedules introductory orientation session for managers/assistant managers at beginning of season. Distributes Manager’s Manual and necessary roster information. Provides guidance for managers as needed.

Assistant Director-Registration

Assisting Registrar with collection and submission of registration information to CJSA and handling passes and rosters.

Assistant Director -Equipment

Assisting with team and Club equipment procurement and distribution.

Assistant Director -Treasury

Assisting Treasurer with budgeting, fee collections and distributions.

Assistant Director -Girls Program

Oversees selection and orientation of managers, assistant managers and parent coaches. Coordinates development of season with AD-Managers and League Commissioners.

Assistant Director -Boys Program

Oversees selection and orientation of managers, assistant managers and parent coaches. Coordinates development of season with AD-Managers and League Commissioners.

Assistant Director -Registration

Responsible for soliciting volunteers for registration process and helping to run registration days, updating database and preparing rosters for teams. No experience required.

Registration Assistants

Assist during registration days and help to update databases and prepare team rosters.


 

 

TOWN LEAGUE TEAM LEVEL

 

Manager

Communicating information to team on game and practice schedules, coordinating with Assistant Managers. Orientation and Manager’s Manual provided at beginning of season. No experience required.

Assistant Managers (2 required)

o   Practice Parent and Game Coverage-organizes and coordinates parent assignments (good job for person with unpredictable time schedule). One to two hours per week.

o   Game logistics coordination-confirms game times and locations with opposing coaches, schedules referee coverage. One to two hours per week.

No experience required.

Parent Game Coaches (3 required)

Coaching and assistant coaching Saturday games. Conducts warm-ups, fields teams, coordinates substitutions. (No experience required. Coaching manual and introductory session provided. Attendance at practices not required as sessions are conducted by professional coaches.)

TOWN LEAGUE PROGRAM LEVEL

 

Assistant Director -Girls Program

Assistant Director -Referees

Schedules referees for home games.

AD-Coaches

Works with Director on hiring professional coaches for practices, providing orientation to Parent Game Coaches and providing feedback to professionals during season. Prior coaching/playing experience is preferred.

Assistant Director -Treasury

Helps to prepare budgets, record checks and handle reimbursements. No experience required.

League Commissioners

Teams are segmented according to the structures of the towns in whose programs we participate with grades generally being combined. Person is responsible for developing teams configurations in respective programs and coordinating with commissioners of towns with whom we play on game schedules and game field assignments.

 

Managers/Assistant Managers

 

-Circulate rosters and game schedules at beginning of season
-Maintain communications with team families, primarily through Hotline
-Arrange for practice coverage during week by parents
-Confirm game and referee arrangements for each game
-Manager orientation and manuals provided



Field Prep/Lining

 

-Preparation of goals and nets at beginning of season
-Lining of fields periodically through season
-Cleanup of fields, goals at end of season



Registration

 

-Assistance with walk-in registration and processing of forms
-Preparation of registration data in Excel database
-Preparation of schedules and mailing lists for use during season



Team Coach/Assistant Coach

 

(Town and K-2 only. Travel and Premier programs use professional coaches for both practices and game.)
-Coaching of games on weekends
-Organization of warmups before games
-Management of lineups during games
-Communication with professional coaches on game and skill issues
-No experience required, coaching manuals and orientation are provided



Equipment Prep/Distribution

 

-Assembly of medical kits for distribution
-Reprovisioning of kits during season



Communication

 

-Preparation of forms and announcements for distribution in schools
-Preparation and submission of Club ads in newspapers
-Development of publicity programs for Club



Program Director/Assistant Director

 

-Coordination of registration and organization of teams
-Development of game schedules with partner towns
-Coordination of program by professional coaches
-Recruitment of team managers and parent coaches
